A: Where Promenade Dr (Cameron Island) and Front St meet, there is a walkway down to the Nanaimo Harbour City Marina and the first boat tied up at the bottom is the waiting area for the ferry. The Google Map below shows 3 pins, the lower right is the parking lot at Port Place, the 2nd lower left is the dock where the ferry leaves from, and the 3rd is the Dinghy Dock on the Protection Island side. Q: Where do I park my car?

A: Many visitors will park at Port Place Malland walk across the street towards Promenade Dr (Cameron Island). Please be aware that there is a 3 hours limit and parking is for the use of patrons of Port Place Mall. Most visitors will use the parkade located next to the Coast Bastion.

Q: Do I need to make a reservation?

A: If you are coming in a large group of 20 or more people, you must call ahead and make a reservation for tables and to allow us to make arrangements for addition ferry sailings.

Q: Do you make trips to Newcastle Island in the evening?

A: We do not normally do trips to Newcastle Island while they have their own ferry service running. If you would like to inquire about specials trips to Newcastle, please contact us.

Q: Are there areas to go walking on Protection Island?

A: There are some trails and beaches to visit on Protection Island; just walk further up the dock and take a right once you get up to the road. It will take you along in Pirates Park.
